It starts with gathering qualitative and/or quantitative information from e-commerce companies, which may include conducting interviews, surveys, making observations, and analyzing documents. The gathered information is then rigorously examined to find recurrent themes and trends (Nielsen et al., 2021). The researcher determines similarities and variations in how organizational agility and digital innovation are impacted by the alignment of digital tools in e-commerce companies through a process of coding and categorization. The researcher creates conceptual frameworks and hypotheses that explain the effects of digital tool alignment on organizational agility and digital innovation based on the patterns and themes that have been observed.

An explanatory research design has been selected for this investigation. Understanding the links between variables and explaining the causes of or consequences of particular elements on the phenomenon under study are the goals of explanatory research (Bentouhami, H et al, 2021). In this instance, the research methodology will examine how organizational agility and robust digital innovation are impacted by the alignment of digital tools in e-commerce businesses. Both quantitative and qualitative data will need to be gathered and analyzed for the study. Surveys that are given to the managers, employees, and founders of e-commerce startups will be used to collect the quantitative data (Church et al., 2019). The surveys will gauge organizational agility, digital innovation, and the alignment of digital tools. Regression analysis and other statistical methods will be used to analyze the data in order to assess the significance and strength of the correlations. To find common themes and patterns in the qualitative data, thematic analysis will be used.

Data was collected by utilizing an inclusion-exclusion criteria which help to incorporate most appropriate papers (Whang, et al, 2023). The articles written in English and published on or after 2019 has only been incorporated in the study. Besides this, to remain authentic only the journals that has been cited less than seven times has been involved in the study.  

3.5 Data analysis

Thematic data analysis was employed to analyze the effects of digital tool alignment for organizational agility and strong digital innovation in e-commerce startups (Braun, V. and Clarke, V, 2023).

The data that has been analyzed in the study is extracted from the secondary sources and as a result of that no practical thoughts and experience of the industry professionals was added in the study. Besides this, generalization of data became highly difficult as the large number of data was collected from different sources. Thus, by proposing a collective result by considering data and information from all different sources was a major limitation.

For instance, solutions like inventory management software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems enable effective order processing and inventory tracking, lowering response times and enhancing customer satisfaction.

The study was performed using a Thematic Analysis method which helped in finding different trends and patterns from the collected data set. It helped in evaluating how alignment of digital tools can help in boosting agility and digital innovation in e-commerce startups. The first major finding of the study highlights the effectiveness if applying digital tools in E-commerce start-ups. Secondly, it has been found that effective alignment of digital tools in the organizational strategies can result into higher organizational agility. Thirdly, the effectiveness of digital tools in boosting digital innovation has been found out. Lastly, the study found out the significant strategies of aligning digital tools in the business operations of the organocations.

Additionally, the results show that encouraging a culture of cooperation and knowledge sharing inside the organization is crucial for fostering agility and creativity. It has been found that utilization of digital tools in e-commerce helps in boosting the digital presence of the organization. The study evaluated that digital tool helps in aligning different new approaches and effective strategies in the operation of e-commerce organizations which boosts the creativity in working standards. In this way the third research question is addressed. 

While the results show the beneficial effects of digital tool alignment on organizational agility and digital innovation in e-commerce companies, it is vital to emphasis that there are still issues and constraints that need to be resolved. These include the requirement for ongoing learning and adaptation, the possible dangers connected to the use of digital tools, and the necessity of effective leadership and change management to speed up the alignment procedure. Startups must make an investment in building the skills and knowledge required to efficiently manage and utilize digital tools and foster an innovative and adaptable culture. Besides this, a change management and transformational culture has been found as highly important for incorporating digital tools. Along with that significant team creation and proper management and leadership can also help in incorporating the digital tools effectively with the organizations.

5.2 Recommendations

Organizational flexibility and digital innovation are essential for achieving a competitive edge in the quickly changing world of e-commerce businesses. It is crucial for startups to successfully align their digital tools in order to accomplish these objectives. Smooth cooperation, effective procedures, and the capacity to quickly adjust to shifting market conditions are all made possible by this alignment. The following suggestions are made to improve digital tool alignment, foster organizational agility, and support strong digital innovation in e-commerce businesses on the basis of thorough study and analysis.

Assess Current Digital Tool Landscape

Start by performing a detailed analysis of the startup's current digital tool ecosystem. Determine the tools being utilized by various departments and assess how well they serve organizational goals (Urdea et al., 2021). In order to increase alignment, this assessment will help decision-makers gain understanding of the tool set's strengths and shortcomings.

Define Organizational Goals and Alignment Strategy

The organizational objectives and goals for agility and digital innovation should be clearly stated. This clarity will direct the strategy for aligning digital tools. Identify the important areas, such as marketing, customer relationship management, supply chain management, and data analytic, where digital tools can have the biggest impact (Lestari et al., 2020). Determine which alignment activities are most important based on the startup's potential benefit from them. 

Streamline Digital Tool Integration

To encourage seamless communication and collaboration, try to simplify the integration of digital tools. Look for solutions that provide strong integration capabilities so that data and information can move easily between various platforms (Urdea et al., 2021). Put in place centralized platforms or project management technologies that allow cross-functional teams to work together successfully, destroying silos and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing.

Invest in Salable and Flexible Tools

Choose digital solutions that are scalable, adaptable, and flexible to the startup's expanding needs. Take into account scalable cloud-based solutions that are simple to access from many locations and devices (Lestari et al., 2020). Make sure the tools that are chosen can handle expansion in the future and changing requirements without causing too much disturbance or requiring too many resources.

Provide Training and Support

Recognize that the workforce of the startup depends on competence and confidence for the successful adoption of digital tools. Spend money on workshops and training programmed to improve employees' digital literacy and skill with the tools of choice. Create a support system to handle any problems or worries right away, guaranteeing a seamless switch to the aligned toolkit (Lestari et al., 2020).

Foster a Culture of Experimentation and Innovation

Encourage the startup to have a culture of creativity and experimentation. Encourage staff members to experiment with new digital tools, share their learning, and success stories. To tap into the group's collective intelligence, establish avenues for cooperation and idea-sharing, such as innovation hubs or recurring brainstorming sessions (Urdea et al., 2021).

Continuously Evaluate and Evolve

Startups must continually assess their efficacy and make the required corrections in order to maintain alignment with their digital tools. Continually evaluate the alignment strategy in light of organizational objectives, gather employee input, and keep an eye on key performance indicators. Adopt a culture of continuous improvement and keep up with market trends and new technological developments to make the most of innovative and agile new digital tools.

5.3 Limitations

The study evaluated the role of digital tools in developing the digital innovation and organizational agility in the e-commerce sectors.  In doing the research time management became a major issue as the data collection took huge time. Later, generalization of data from different sources and generalizations of the main findings from the evaluated theme also became challenging. Thus, these two were the major limitations of the study.

5.4 Future research works

The study has highlighted a new area of study about effective inclusion digital tools in the e-commerce sectors. Future research works may be shaped to evaluate the role of modern technologies such as AI, IoT and Big Data analytics in boosting organizational agility and digital innovation of the e-commerce organizations. Besides this, research works can also be performed in methods of indulging digital tools in logistics and supply chain of e-commerce firms.
